Legal Limits to Confidentiality
Under Ontario law, therapists must break confidentiality only in specific emergency situations:

- Suspected abuse or neglect of a child under 16, or a vulnerable adult in long-term care.
- A formal court order or subpoena ordering the release of clinical records.
